FAQ
-
What happens at the initial assessment with an Exercise Physiologist or Psychologist?Your initial assessment is designed to get to know you—your goals, challenges, and what works best for you. We start by discussing your current situation, medical history, and support needs. If you’re working with an Exercise Physiologist (EP), we’ll also assess movement, strength, and any limitations. If you’re seeing a Psychologist, we’ll explore strategies to support mental well-being in a way that feels comfortable and effective for you. 💡 After the assessment, we’ll complete a Service Agreement and plan next steps based on what works best for you.
-
What areas do you support? We work with NDIS participants in Newcastle and surrounding areas. Often, we begin sessions in the home for initial assessments before progressing to outdoor spaces that you feel comfortable engaging with, such as parks, bush trails, or beaches.
-
Can we go to a gym or local pool?We prefer to use natural spaces like outdoor gyms and pools, but we’ll work with you to find an environment that suits your needs. If you already have a gym or pool membership, we can discuss how to incorporate that into your program
-
Do we pay for gym memberships?Unfortunately, no, we are unable to cover gym or pool memberships. However, we focus on free and accessible outdoor spaces to ensure long-term sustainability in your health and well-being.
-
Do we pay for equipment? We can provide basic, necessary equipment for your sessions, but we cannot cover extensive or high-cost equipment purchases. If you need specific equipment, we can guide you on how to request it through NDIS funding.
-
Do you charge for travel?Yes, we charge travel for home or community visits. Travel is generally capped at 30 minutes to keep costs reasonable. We’ll discuss this during your Service Agreement.
-
How long do we work with you? This varies for each person, but our goal is to give you the tools and confidence to operate without us. Our programs typically follow short- to medium-term plans, ensuring you gain long-term independence in managing your health and well-being.
